I designed and developed a new website for Rivermead Holidays using WordPress.com.
The business owners of Rivermead Holidays, a small, family-run holiday park in north Cornwall, were looking to replace their existing website with a more modern, user-friendly website. The key objectives of the project were to:
- Create a simple, ‘brochure-style’ website that provides clear, concise information about the holiday park and the surrounding area for visitors.
- Build a website using WordPress.com, making it easy for the business owners to manage and update content themselves.
My work involved:
- Reviewing the existing website structure and content to identify what to keep and new areas for development.
- Producing a Word document detailing a new sitemap and individual page content, which I reviewed and updated with the business owners.
- Selecting a WordPress theme and designing the website homepage and key page layouts using standard content blocks.
- Creating individual web pages and uploading content (text and images) into the WordPress.com CMS.
- Writing a WordPress user guide to help the business owners manage and update the website, focusing on the specific settings and content blocks used in Rivermead Holidays website.
